Musée Cathelin Lonjumeau

Longjumeau

Description

The Longjumeau history and archaeology museum occupies two rooms of a building at 134 Rue du Président François Mitterrand.
Inaugurated on 20 September 1997, the museum was created with the support of Longjumeau council but also thanks to the devotion and perseverance of the Renaissance & Culture Association and its members.

The museum exhibits minerals, stuffed animals, herbariums and ancient farm tools from collections that belonged to Dr. Cathelin, the property’s former owner. Only the best-preserved items are on display.

Visitors to the museum can also see a wide range of artefacts from Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt, which were donated by Frédéric and Berthe Nathanson.
