MUS’X Polytechnique
Palaiseau
Description
MUS’X, the Ecole Polytechnique museum, is open to the public for unguided visits from Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm.
Guided tours are also available, by appointment only, from Tuesday to Saturday. The museum exhibits permanent collections based on the common theme of the history of science. It also hosts a temporary exhibition which is renewed each year.
The Mus’x museum displays the collections managed by the Library’s Historic Resource Centre which have been amassed by the Ecole Polytechnique since its creation in 1794 for the purposes of teaching and research. These highly diverse collections include science instruments, busts, uniforms, illustrations, archives and a history library… all presented in thematic sequence to tell the story behind the Ecole Polytechnique and the world of science in general.
